you could include lights like from christmas, flowers, asian wall hangers, teddy bears, lots of picture frames! posters of your fav band! lots of mirrors!!!

Try wall decals, bright pillows, a reading nook [with tons of soft pillows, blankets, and a rug], brightly colored light/lightbulbs, and try painting the walls with sponges or stripes (like mine).
