Dissapointing Gift Idea for my GF?
So, i made some sacrifice to be able to get my girl a laptop for her b-day and a laptop messenger bag for xmas. i borrowed money, i talked to dell many times for dif reasons in case she wanted to change the color of it, upgrade the hardware without losing the warranty, i talked to them so i could get it before the 20th which was her b-day, i got the laptop like 3 days ago, i set it up, added a $100 anti-virus to it… etc. so yesterday i was talking to her on the phone and she goes “im gonna get a desktop next week” and i go “oh yeah? u like desktops or laptops better? & she goes “i DESPISE laptops… i used to have one and that thing is back in my country” so, i dont know if i should sell it and get her something else.. advice please?? and if you say i should sell it.. what else could i get her?? u reckon a $1000 debit for her to shop at the mall is a excellent thought? 
i dunno what to do. Should i just give her the laptop today and question her if i should sell it before she gets the desktop?
she also said “Laptops are pointless.”
oh and also… we’re moving in together soon so i reckon it’s pointles for her to get a desktop since i already have one.

Chances are she just had a crappy laptop…because they are fantastic. Give her your original gift…return it or Ebay it if she doesn’t want it…but let her try it out first. You could also buy her a flat screen and then she could sort of convert it to a desktop with that and a keyboard if she wanted…you know you can hook those up to a laptop, right?
sell the laptop…..give her a gift certificate
I say give her the lap top the one she has was probably really terrible, and if she doesnt like it return it and get her a desk top but let her try it out first. Im sure she would be pleased about the thought that you place into this so dont worry. If she doesnt like it thats her problem. Your a sweet guy for doing all this

You should not have to sell it if you are still within the 30-days. Most stores that sell computers and other electronics allow you 30 days to exchange it if you are miserable. I would exchange it for the desktop. Otherwise, have her try it out and if she is miserable, she can exchange it for the desktop. Hopefully you didn’t buy it on a no returns policy.. that would be crazy since it’s a gift. You are a very nice boyfriend to do all that for her.. don’t stress over it. Just let her exchange it. Is she still does not like it then EBAY it. It is a incredible gift and I bet she likes it. Make sure you let her know how many times you talked to Dell just so she could change even the color…..

give her the laptop. it sounds like you place alot of thought into it, and money. she will appreciate it, and with all the extras you included i doubt it will give her the same problems her last one did. plus, desktops and laptops are pretty much the same software wise, its all about what you do to it to mess it up. if you take care of a laptop it will preform just as well as a desktop. plus, you will have the added satisfaction of having her come to You every time something goes a small incorrect with it. lol. and if you give it to her for christmas and she really doesnt like it you can always return it. and just tell her not to get the desktop cuz you already have one. if she instist she needs her own pc, tell her not to unpack it since she will have to go it to your house soon anyway and theres no point risking hurt or a loss of waranty. that way she can choose which to send back and knowing that you already have a desktop im sure she will keep the laptop
