messenger bags are cute and practical!!!
One that is comfortable and carries all the stuff you need.
you need to buy a practical bag and not a fashion accessory, as with the amount of books you will need, and the amount of time you will be throwing the bag about all over the place, will have a damaging effect on the bag and if you buy a dainty but fashionable bag it will look excellent for a week or so, but then you will have to use some of your hard earned cash to buy another one,I am sure you would rather use the cash for a night out or something.

You might want to invest a few extra bucks in a backpacker’s bag with a leather bottom. They can be found at sports stores. These are practically indistructible and should last your entire college career.
AND it is considered ‘cool’ for upperclassmen to have the rattiest bags. Makes them look like real brains. So beat it up as much as possible.

Something durable, huge enough, and excellent on your back. Don’t get a shoulder bag or anything that throws off your excellent posture. Your back will thank you. If you’re going to have lots of heavy books, you might even consider something like a rolling briefcase.
