What would be most appropriate for a high school girl to carry school stuff in?
I’ve always worn backpacks, but I reckon a tote/messenger bag would be a lot more comfortable.

That bag is absolutely hideous. Get an oversized purse, much cuter.
You probably have a better thought how many books you’ll be carrying, it looks like a fine size to me.. its just hideous.
I just carried around canvas tote’s. they were fine for me. Or an oversized handbag.

EDIT: Don’t walk around the store putting things of an estimated weight into the bag to see if it is comftable, you’ll get arrested.
yea it would be alright..but it doesnt look excellent
you know, everyone has their opinions on what they like to use for school. I tried a tote bag and it sucked. In high school you have a butt-load of books, notebooks, projects etc etc. so when you are carrying that around everywhere it’s a pain in the butt.
I suggest a different kind of tote if thats the way you are going to go.
But if that is your style, go for it.
Maybe when you buy one or when you are at a store, go into a section of books or something and try putting in an estimated amount of weight you’ll be carrying around the day walk around and see how you like it.
Backpacks are much simpler though, and they aren’t out of style or anything, really comfortable! (:
You won’t get arrested it will have the stores tags on everything so i don’t know what people are smokin.
and you don’t have to do it at the store, you can try it at home with bags you already have and see which ones are more comfortable!

I simply LIKE this kinds of bags ,they are really comfortable and they are really IN .try to wear jeans with it for example .you will like it for sure!!!!!
i don’t reckon it looks THAAAAAT terrible, just a small plain, i guess. CUSTOMIZE IT WITH PINS AND CHARMS!!!! oh, and btw, if the material’s too thin, the bag will rip at the bottom. i reckon tote bags from sports brands are the best choice if you’ll be carrying alot of heavy books around. like they NEVER give way, and the straps are pretty comfy! check out puma totes. they’re GORGEOUS!

I’m australian and we all have school uniforms, our school bags are part of the uniform.
I’ve always had (school)backpacks but i chose a shoulder bag (like a tote bag but larger because it fits more books)would be better, because they looked excellent were simpler to carry and fit more stuff (mind you my bags about ten times the size of that bag
it was a standard school bag made especially for school
and it was a terrible choice!
when you have heaps of books to carry it kills your back and shoulders, not only that but because your carrying your books sort of tucked under your arm it jabs you especially if you have folders.
Overall I’d have to say dont get one!
unless you only have two books. in which case your set
tote bags like the one you showed are not huge enough to carry too many books, and are generally really hard to find stuff in because theres only one compartment and you need to squish everything in.
so now im done jabbering
try a cute backpack but totes are really hard as school bags
