How do I get my leather handbag to have a different smell?
I just bought a leather handbag and it has a really weird smell – not like normal leather. I was wondering if there was any way to make it have a normal or different (more pleasant) smell?

Check the local department stores and hardware stores for saddle soap. Wash the handbag with the saddle soap. It helps a lot.
Spray it with parfume?
I don’t know place an air freshener in it.
maybe you can spray it with body spray.
poop in it is the obvious answer. but it only works if you like the smell of poo
um , i would go for washing it , look at the instruction’s on the tag;
plus the more you wear it the more it wear’s out & stop’s smelling weird
lit a candle up ..the rub the wax alont the inside and the outside pockets
Leave a few scented dryer sheets in there for a few days. That should help. There is a lavender-vanilla one on the market, I forget who makes it, that I have been using on my hairbrush to prevent static cling. It smells fantastic!
There’s only one thing i found effective to remove smell…Ionizer. Try exposing it to an ionizer…if you don’t have one, a car ionizer is not so expensive (those things you stick into the cig lighter socket). If it doesn’t work, try drying it under the sun (and in open air). when the smell’s gone, place leather conditioner (the thing you’ld place on your jacket to make it softer and nice-smelling)
When leather is stored in a box it will have a strong odor to it. Your handbag may have been stored for a while and just place out on the shelf before you bought it. It will air out after a few days. You want to make sure you let it air out naturally. Leather is porous and needs to breathe. Leave it sit out in open space. Make sure it is not in a bag or the box if it came in one. You can also try cleaning it with a leather conditioner or leather cleaner that you should be able to get at a shoe store or a leather store.
