It should act like a “brotherhood”
Aides and novice teachers face layoffs unless the New Jersey Education Association starts acting like the brotherhood that unions purport to be. Instead of tossing junior educators in the wind to protect senior educators’ lucrative purses, the NJEA should morph its cant into policy and save jobs by accepting wage freezes and even cuts.

Three purses stolen from parked cars
A thief broke into three cars parked behind Fatz Cafe, located at 4105 Lexington Road, about 1:40 a.m. Sunday and stole three purses, according to an Athens-Clarke police report.
