Getting Organized for High School?

Hi. I’m going to be a freshman and I have some questions.

First of all, I’m wondering if having 3 1.5 inch binders for 5 subjects will work out well. When I bought them I thought it would be smart to do it according to my schedule, like if I have French then math then english then science, have one for french and math, the other for english and science. So I can place one binder in my locker at lunch. But I don’t know if I’ll have enough room in each binder. Do you reckon I should get 5 1 inch binders?

Secondly, I’m wondering what the best method for keeping track of homework is. I was debating between having a section in each binder for homework, and just writing it down in order of when it’s due, or getting a planner and writing down assignments there.

I’m also wondering what sort of bags girls usually carry? I got a messenger bag, but was thinking of using a tote bag instead. I don’t want it to be too bulky.
