In south australia plastic shopping bags are banned from stores. If you want one you have to pay 20c. You would be surprised how many people opt not to get one. We also offer biodegradable bags. And now nearly every household brings “enviro” bags to do their shopping. They are like tote bags. Its small but it helps!! and i mean there are 2 million people living in the capital city alone. For the whole state to participate i reckon we are making a difference

then make 2 straps instead of one and connect em using a buckle ,–( not the right word i am looking for but meh, close enough), that way the size of the strap can be adjusted.

make the strap half strap half belt like. just like how any department store does.

To take it one step further, I make “plarn” out of plastic bags and then weave them into re-usable totes, mats, placemats, just about anything on a loom. The fabric woven out of plastic shopping bags is really surprisingly very nice. check my channel if you need to know how to make plarn and then for a tote project where the handles are woven into the bag so that only the side and bottom need to be sewn.

to me that bag will not hold much

the only reason all those plastic bags are in the dump is that people buy then 2 hold thier trash how else r u supposed 2 not get stuff on ur bin without a bag?
